Privacy
LivePoll is built to collect as little personal data as possible. You can create and vote in polls without creating an account or giving us your name, email address, or phone number.
What we store
- The poll question, answers, and settings you create.
- Vote counts and any open text responses submitted to a poll.
- An anonymous, randomly generated participant identifier stored in a cookie on your device, used only to stop the same person voting twice in one poll and to remember which polls you have already answered.
- A poll management secret stored in a cookie on the organiser's device, used only to prove you created a poll so you can manage it.
What we don't do
- We do not require accounts, names, or email addresses to create or vote in a poll.
- We do not use browser fingerprinting.
- We do not sell or share poll data with third parties.
- We do not run invasive tracking or advertising analytics.
- Poll organisers cannot see who voted or how any individual participant responded.
How long we keep data
Polls expire automatically 30 days after creation. Expired polls stop accepting votes; we may periodically delete data belonging to expired polls.
Infrastructure
LivePoll runs on Supabase (database and real-time updates) and may be served through a content delivery network. These providers may process technical connection information (such as IP addresses) as part of operating the underlying infrastructure and abuse protection; this is kept separate from poll response data.
